Using Sygate Personal Firewall

Sygate is another company that makes a great personal firewall. Just like Zone Alarm, Sygate Personal Firewall includes a two-way firewall that audits your incoming as well as outgoing traffic. Zone Alarm and Sygate are very similar products. The only real difference is the user interface of the firewall. I personally like the way Sygate Personal Firewall displays the incoming and outgoing connections better than Zone Alarm. The nice list interface of all of the connections that have been granted as well as all of the connections that have been blocked.

The Sygate user's interface is also different and a little easier to use than ZoneAlarm's, yet it offers a lot more power on the main screen. The interface shows detailed graphs and also the icons of the open programs. You can simply right-click the icon and select Block or Allow to set a program to a specific access setting.

The operation of Sygate Personal Firewall is similar to that of Zone Alarm. When a program attempts to access the Internet, it is caught, and the user is prompted to confirm if he or she wants the program to access the Internet or not. It all comes down to personal preference. If you like the cleaner and more accessible interface of Sygate personal firewall, visit Sygate's Web site at http://smb.sygate.com/products/spf_standard.htm and download a free copy.

Websites like facebook, twitter and other social networking sites are generally blocked in schools, colleges and offices. There exist some tricks by which you can bypass the restrictions and access blocked sites, the most obvious is the use of proxies or Anonymizer websites. But using proxies doesn’t always works as they gets blocked by firewall as well . Here I am listing some other methods to access blocked contents. 1.
